Ritesinstitute is an independend studio of two artists and curators from Vienna/Austria, who work also as artists and researchers. For 12 years they are doing collaborative art- and research-projects and art works in the open space. Friedemann Derschmidt, born 1969, has studied art in Vienna, is employed in the Academy of fine Art in Vienna as a lecturer and researcher for Videoart. Karin Schneider, born 1969, has studied history, she was the staffpossition of art-education (2000-2007) in the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna (MUMOK) and works now as a researcher in the field of musuemscommunication (project: “science with all senses – the making of science and gender in the museum “2007-2009; “tricks of the trade – Feldforschung mit Jugendlichen” / sparkling science 2008-2010)
Karin Schneider and Friedemann Derschmidt created in 2010 together with Tal Adler and Attila Kosa the art based research project MemScreen.
